About Jade

   Jade Laska is an 18-year-old singer-songwriter based in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, originally from Conway. Her music blends acoustic indie folk with sad indie, taking inspiration from artists like Adrianne Lenker, Big Thief, and Phoebe Bridgers.

   Music has always been a part of Jade’s life. Growing up, she loved singing and got involved in theatre, often practicing her lines at home to make sure she had them down before a musical. At thirteen, she picked up the guitar and started writing songs of her own.

   Her songwriting often explores things like time, addiction, and nostalgia, with a focus on the feelings and experiences that can be difficult to put into words. Her latest release, Illusion, reflects on the passing of time and how strange it can be to realize that some things are out of our control. Her music tends to lean toward the sadder side of things, but she also loves creating a warm, nostalgic atmosphere through her vocals and production.

   Jade performs her original music at local spots like Fresh Brewed open mic and events like FOXFEST for the ARTS. She also records and produces her music at home, working independently to bring her songs to life. For her, making music is simply a way to take the things she thinks and feels and turn them into something she can share with other people.
